In order to maintain the safety from fire and smoke, the Valmiera Glass Group's glass fiber fabric is used in the construction of the highest building in Seoul (South Korea) and fifth highest in world - Lotte World Tower. Fabric is used as a fireproof curtain or barrier that effectively defends in various types of emergencies.

Mr. Oto Grinberg, Head of regional sales department of "Valmiera Glass Group": "Participation in a project together with Lotte World Tower is the result of all the work invested for several years. This was achieved in a close cooperation with our partner in South Korea, which covers our high-silicon glass fiber fabric with a fireproof polyurethane machine. The fabric thus serves as a fireproof barrier that delimits individual rooms and even floors, protecting people from the flames and smoke and supporting the rescue work for the services. The fabric is sewn to a certain size and shape, attached to a motorized system and built into ceilings. When the fire alarm is activated, the fabric barrier is lowered to the floor. Each barrier also employs an exit to allow people to escape from the dangerous zone. This is just one of several buildings using our fabric. "

Such equipment can significantly reduce the damage caused by the fre and ensure immediate and timely evacuation of people, which is especially important in high-rise buildings, so that people can feel safe on the upper floors of the building. One of the main advantages of the fireproof curtain is it's constant and compact nature. They are tied on a shaft and placed in a compact firebox. Until the alert is heard, they are visually invisible. When the fire alert starts, the curtain automatically lands, limiting the spread of flames and smoke.

Mr. Jānis Ķikuts, Head of product group in "Valmiera Glass Group": "The key value was the client's ability to define the needs in the very beginning of the projekct , since architects had planned to use a special shape of the fire-prevention curtain structure. The requirements were addressed, both customer and project writers were educated. In 2012, at the start of the project (and even now), the South Korean market offered various technical solutions, even at three times lower costs. The results of our silicate fabric resistance at high temperatures and the small remaining fabric shrinkage were the main parameters for the selection of "Valmiera Glass Group" fabric KA-600P (124) TA1. Our long-standing experience in the Japanese market had also given the client the confidence that our fabric can be used in such an important project. It is a good reference for both us and our client in order to successfully attract new partners in the future and develop new markets."

The gigantic, vertical skyscraper at 555 meters high consists of 123 floors, and it is opened to the public since the beginning of this year.

In photos - The specific fabric is able to withstand heat at 1000 ° C and is used as a fire protection curtain to prevent the fire and smoke from penetrating into potential ignition zones. High-rise buildings have high fire hazard objects, therefore our glass fiber fabric is the right solution for fire safety.
