On December 9, 2011, in an official ceremony Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (ViA) received the quality award of EU Lifelong Learning Programme „Spārni 2011” in the nomination „Erasmus Intensive Programme 2007 – 2009”.
ViA participated in this year’s competition with Erasmus Intensive Programme implemented in 2010 „Environment Awareness. Communication. Interpretation”.
Project director Līga Tuča tells: „On behalf of project management team I express our satisfaction of receiving this award. Erasmus IP in 2010 was very special as it was the first IP implemented at ViA. An enormous work was done in order to realise the project on high level – and this aim was achieved. I think both for participants and the staff this was one of the highlights of summer 2010. This award reminds us again of the benefits gained for the university, each student and participant.”
For ViA this is already the second award in the EU Lifelong Learning Programme quality competition „Spārni”. The first award was received in 2006 for Leonardo da Vinci placement project „Perspectives of sustainable tourism development in EU and new member states”.
